| Belvedere Connector Louisville, KY |
The Belvedere Connector is a unique 3-level concrete frame structure which connects the Belvedere (a downtown City park atop the Riverfront Parking Garage) with the Louisville Wharf. The structure incorporates elevator and stairway access for a 50' elevation change overlooking the Ohio River. Large concrete pylons, which are also structural columns, help to protect the structure from barge traffic. The design included provision to resist glancing blows from loose barges during high water events. The Belvedere Connector project was completed under the direction of Senler, Campbell & Associates, Inc. who was the prime consultant to the Corps of Engineers for this project. |
