The structure is a cast-in-place concrete obelisk, on a 20-acre tract, is approximately 351 feet tall measuring about 40 feet square at its base containing a room approximately 20 square feet. The renovation and repairs involved structural repair to numerous horizontal and vertical cracks and spalling in the exterior walls, replacing exterior entrance steps and cheek walls, cleaning the exterior surface by pressure washing, in some areas after the application of a chemical cleaner, waterproofing the cleaned surface, addition of a polymer concrete cap at the entrance and filling handrail holes with polymer concrete.
