WHITE PAPERS

White Papers represent the commitment of the Structural Engineers Association of Kentucky to affect change that has the specific purpose of reducing loss and ensuring public safety through improved structural performance. The format of the White Paper will be as follows:

White Papers are to be approved by the Board of Directors and a majority of the membership. White Papers will be a product of SEAOK authored by the Board of Directors and President of the Association. The White Paper is intended to be transmitted to the Building Official of the State of Kentucky or other appropriate authority, and may be used in an effort to achieve legislation that affects the safety of the people of Kentucky or prevention of excessive losses.

(Second Edition)

  This document provides input and comments on the 2002 Kentucky Residential Code for the purpose of adopting structural changes to a code addendum or supplement. The second edition reflects the changes agreed to by an ad hoc seismic design committee consisting of several different professions.
